Christopher Merlin Vyvyan Holland (born December 1945 in London) is the only grandchild of Oscar Wilde and Constance Lloyd and has become one of the leading authorities on his grandfather’s life and reputation. Over more than three decades, he has researched Wilde extensively, co‑editing *The Complete Letters of Oscar Wilde* and editing the full transcript of Wilde’s 1895 trials, published as *Irish Peacock and Scarlet Marquess* (also known as *The Real Trial of Oscar Wilde*). Holland has written widely read books such as *The Wilde Album*, *Conversations with Oscar Wilde*, and most recently *After Oscar: The Legacy of a Scandal*, which examines how gossip, myth, and moral panic shaped Wilde’s posthumous image. Based in Burgundy, France, he continues to lecture, write, and broadcast on Wilde, while also advocating for the preservation of Wilde-related sites, including his grave at Père‑Lachaise Cemetery in Paris.
