Unfortunately for the bold men and women sent to explore Greenworld II, they're not the only sentient species interested in the planet. After the discovery of star gates, the Earth Concord Exploration Initiative is funding every expedition it can, hoping that settlers will survive long enough to make everyone rich. Regulatory Officer John Carver must deal with a missing scout team, dishonest politicians, and an alien virus left as a trap. What does it take to adapt to a new world? How many secrets can one man uncover about the Exploration Initiative? Will there be time for fly-fishing on an alien world, or will he need to become the man he was during the Halfway Wars to survive?
