Description

In the aftermath of Operation Serpent, Master Commander Carina Larsen must face the consequences of her actions. Relieved of duty and separated from the Longsword Ascalon and her crew, she awaits her fate when disaster strikes. The devious plan masterminded by the Aternien Serpent God, Apophis, is coming to fruition, and the remaining planets of the Union are thrown into chaos and disarray. Carina is forced to make a daring escape and find a way to rejoin Master General Carter Rose and the faction of Old Aterniens. Their former enemy is now their only hope of defeating the reborn God King. But first, Carter and Carina must combat the chaos spreading through the Union like a disease. Then, during a daring mission to recover an officer vital to their plans, Apophis strikes again, aided by his growing army of human acolytes, with catastrophic results. This appalling act galvanizes the post-human Master Officers. Carter and Carina are done running from the God King. Their next move is to strike back and strike hard. The Union may have forsaken them, but Carter and Carina haven’t given up hope. The fightback starts now and doesn’t end until the God King is defeated, or they are.
