The Nice Guys

Assassin's Creed III

of all the AC games this is still my favorite to this day. It had one of the best stories, most solid gameplay, and at the time had the most fresh mechanics in the franchise.

Monster House

This is one of those movies that was in my mom's minivan that got repeated over and over during drives. I thought when I was younger that I was burnt out on it, but still to this day I can watch this movie and laugh a lot.

Brother Bear

As a middle child of 3 other brothers, this movie really hit as a kid and still holds up for me to this day.

Suzume

I think between this movie living in the shadow of Your Name and coming out during the pandemic set this movie back. I personally liked it more than its predecessor and think it deserves a watch from everyone.

The Platform

Such an incredibly interesting plot and premise. A massive vertical prison where inmates are fed via a single food-laden platform that starts at the top and slowly descends to the bottom floors. What a creative and brutal allegory for capitalism.

Dororo

With all of the titans of anime that have been out the past decade, this one flew under so many radars. It's pretty different than the mainstream content we get. Just one word from this protagonist showed so much character growth and story telling, dude just saying "mama" about made me cry.

Chronicle

I feel like its hard to say its a sleeper because everyone I've talked to about this movie loved it, but the amount of people who I can actually talk about this movie to is very small.

Treasure Planet
