Overview
In 1907, magician and illusionist Viktor Ponrepo opened Prague's very first permanent cinema, where he became famous for personally welcoming and thanking every single audience member with a bow. By 1910, the high attendance made it physically impossible for him to keep doing it, so he commissioned Antonín Pech to film him bowing as a "virtual" solution.
