Solaris is a Hungarian progressive rock band formed in 1980. Their music has a strong melodic content, often with Eastern European themes, and use of dynamics. There is interplay among the lead instruments of flute, guitar and keyboard, which is used regularly for extended thematic development. Rather than emphasising solos for the various instruments, the band employs them together within the context of musical development.
