Calling it Blackjack Balatro does this game a disservice. Black Jacket is a thoughtful and touching story told through a well-balanced and rich deckbuilding game.

It's difficult to fully convey what makes the story compelling without spoiling it too much, as details are drip-fed each playthrough, but suffice it to say that the characters found in the game are the reason to keep playing. The wonderful voice acting brings them to life in a convincing and endearing way. Its tight gameplay is wrapped in an immersive atmosphere built from beautiful art and music.

Although there have been many wonderful gambling roguelike games released over the last couple of years, Black Jacket stands out from the crowd with a heavy dose of heart.
