Quip about Evil Dead Burn by alkemest

More of a C+. This was probably the biggest horror letdown for me this year. I love the previous installments, but this one opted for gore at the expense of terror. There's no Deadites grinning at you through the peephole moment like in Rise, or overwhelming bad vibes like on the 2013 reboot. The most unforgiveable sin an Evil Dead movie can make is to be boring, and this got close.

I feel like I'm the only one that liked this more than the last one. I thought this was high-octane in the same way ED 2013 was. I also thought there was an added sense of dread in the atmosphere. I thought there still was the ED style of sick humor in a lot of it. I cackled like a little kid through some of it. Idk, I felt like it had everything I wanted out of an ED movie. I was wincing and laughing. The whole theater was all gasping together. It was a great time. I liked all the little nods, easter eggs, and fakeouts too.
It's definitely not bad by any means but I'm aware that I'm also grading on a sliding scale with the 2013 reboot being the impossible goal lol The dog though was pretty sweet!
My least favorite in the series too. Liked it more than you did though. Had a good nasty/gloomy atmosphere to it. Doubt Iโll revisit it though
Yee agreed mostly. I think I'll probably end up doing an Evil Dead run at some point tho!
Lmao
