Hokum throws curveballs at you in the best way possible from the moment it starts. The character development in this movie is something to be studied. The tone is incredibly unsettling, with this constant sense of anticipation that makes you feel trapped in your seat and almost afraid to look directly at the screen at times. I especially loved how ambiguous the ending was. Much like John Carpenter’s The Thing, it leaves you to decide for yourself what really happened.
One of the best horror movies I’ve seen in a long time. Do yourself a favor and watch this one with the lights out.

Just finished it up. Definitely horror of the year for me so far. This guy knows how to work with tension so damn well. Caveat was so outside the box compared to most of what was coming out at the time and I'm glad to see he’s managed to get bigger and still keep that feeling going as he goes on.
The tension was really what made the movie! I’ll have to check out Caveat and Oddity

I loved this one. I think it's probably my top horror movie of the year. Bone Temple and Backrooms are also right up there. Evil Dead sadly didn't do much for me, which was a bummer because the 2013 reboot is probably my favorite modern horror movie, and Rise was a blast.
