Man Seeking Woman season three is the final season and a logical place to stop for the show. I thought it was a planned final season but the show was canceled but given how it ends I assume they were given plenty of time to wrap everything up.

The series regulars are make their returns: Josh, Mike, Liz, Mom, Mark, etc…But now there is a new character. Lucy! Played by Katie Findlay Lucy is Josh’s season long relationship and her addition instantly refreshes the entire show. When I first saw this season, I didn’t like it. The show felt safer with Lucy but upon rewatches I understand that the show grew and so did everyone else, especially Josh. She fits in with the cast Lucy is less nervous than Josh and adds dimensions to all the character dynamics.

The show shifts from Josh’s struggles to Lucy and Josh struggle and that’s a lot of fun. They go through the typical relationship ups and downs. They become homebodies, they make time and space for their own social lives, they struggle to integrate with previously held friendships. Each episode is fun and engaging with all of the cultural references and jokes that make the show of its time.

The show ends on a happy note and make a reference to the first scene in the first episode. Rarely is a show so consistently good over its entire run all while balancing growth and never straying from what it is, at its core. I can’t put Man Seeking Woman in my top 5 TV shows but it is easily in my top 10.
