I don’t generally like characters introduced through DLC, but Zaeed is so simple that he’s hard not to enjoy.

Zaeed is what you’d get if a British SAS commando found himself in the Mass Effect universe. Battle-hardened, blunt, and hell of a soldier in a firefight, he’s a fun addition to your crew. He is strictly a soldier and adds a lot of firepower in missions where that can be at a premium.

His loyalty mission is about revenge. Zaeed was betrayed by his business partner, with whom he founded the Blue Suns nearly 20 years ago. The mission itself is simple enough: you run and gun your way through a factory, dispatching mercenaries while Zaeed grunts and growls the entire way, looking for his disloyal partner.

During the firefight, you’re given the predictable Renegade and Paragon options. Though it always seemed a little weird for a Paragon Shepard to be surprised by this middle-aged mercenary’s single minded taste for violence because… well, that’s kind of his whole thing.

The DLC is another run-of-the-mill, nothing-special addition to a great game. I still recommend it, though, because of what Zaeed brings to the base game.
