and grade a few things to see how Misshapen_Steed’s taste matches yours.

Worth watching just for the opening minutes alone, which rank among the most unsettling stuff I've seen.

Pure nightmare shit—unfortunately, the existential dread of its opening images and delightfully morbid accompanying soundtrack creates an expectation that is not really met throughout the rest of the runtime (bar a reveal in the final act that is really, really unnerving both in concept and representation).

There are great moments littered throughout the film, for sure (and the final act is quite special). It is just always a bit disappointing when a film comes out of the gate with something so beautiful, grotesque and genuinely horrifying but then never revisits that stylistic mode, even as the rest of the film is invariably haunted by its opening ideas.
