When you watch a movie, you're often under the influence of the sunk cost fallacy. Because you've already invested your time and money, you're naturally more inclined to convince yourself that you enjoyed the experience. That's why I usually wait a day or two before writing a review. I let my expectations settle, ruminate on what I actually watched, and give the movie a fair chance after relaxing and thinking about what I just saw.
It took only moments after walking out of the theater for me to realize that I had seen something I would never care to watch again.
Let me be brief: this movie exists solely to establish a firm rock bottom for both comic book films and action movies.
I can forgive bad acting. I can forgive paint-by-numbers direction. But I can't forgive a fundamental misunderstanding of the characters, and the relentless melodrama was simply too much for me.
If you absolutely must watch this movie, buy a physical copy.
That way, when you're finished, you can always use the disc as a coaster—or for skeet shooting.
