Berserk, Vol. 1It's considered the greatest manga for a reason, my favorite experience from reading this was the evolution of the art from the beginning of the series to where it is now decades later. - 4
Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, Vol. 1The anime does well at bringing the manga to life, but the core writing of the characters and story is what makes me love this series. The ability for this manga to showcase subtle writing is unlike anything I have ever seen in any media. Amongst the other manga on this list, this one has the most meaningful lessons to learn and meaning to it's central story. Cherish your loved ones and the memories you make, because one day you may regret not doing so. - 3
Jujutsu Kaisen, Vol. 1Although this is more of an honorable mention, I agree that the picks on this list are far better written or have better art, but the experience of reading this weekly from chapters 223 through 236 was unlike anything I have ever experienced before. The community felt so alive, and for that alone I think this deserves to be up here. It's hard for me to put this high in terms of quality, but any time I think of this series I just think back to that experience. Before this, I never sat there the night before the new chapter dropped just to see untranslated leaks of what I could just read the next day. - 2
Vagabond, Vol. 1Being one of many interpretations of Musashi, it would be a disservice to not call it one of the best. The manga really takes it's time to tell you the story and lets you soak in the world that is both realistic and very whimsical. But with how detailed and beautiful the art is, you want to turn each pages slow and take your time anyways, it's very complimentary to the story telling and reader's experience. - 1
Vinland SagaI can not express enough how wonderful the writing is for the protagonist, along with multiple antagonist and side characters. It is also one of the only endings in anime/manga that I think is perfect and I would not change anything about. It's a story that can fundamentally change how you think in real life and inspire you to be a better person.
