beautiful movie, made me cry this time.

There's an emotionally striking shot where Jimmy Stewart's George Bailey violently embraces his youngest son Tommy while his life seems to be completely crumbling in on itself, a life that hasn't exactly gone the way George wanted it to. Tommy doesn't really understand, being a dumb fucking toddler. But everything is clear in George's face — that need to grip everything around you a little tighter, maybe too tight, just to keep yourself going. Reminding yourself of the things worth sticking around for.

The third act of this film is incredibly moving. I love it. It also perfectly sticks the landing at the end. Something like this could very easily be turned into a super cheesy pseudo-inspirational turd. What we got instead is a very sincere and sweet film.

Life is wonderful, isn't it :)
