this is the longest film I've ever watched (by a decent margin), and I did manage to do it in one sitting, which I am happy about since I do not think it would have had the same effect had I broken it up. it felt long, but it did not feel like almost 5 hours.

I have too many thoughts about this. watch this film. it is not perfect, there is some pretty lame stuff in here. but god, this has some of the most beautiful visuals ever and some great performances. really, it is Wenders' exploration of images and dreams in this film that makes it something special. it even sort of becomes a horror movie for about 20 minutes, some of the most unnerving stuff I've seen in a minute. i can't imagine there are very many other movies like this out there. super engaging throughout its runtime — it becomes more intriguing and interesting as the film progresses. really beautiful film, watch it whenever you are free for 5 hours straight 👍
