I've been making my way through the David Lynch filmography for a good bit now, but I think when I get to the end, my first experience with him might still be my favorite. This first episode of Twin Peaks is so special. The first half hour or so, as the town learns about the tragedy, make me really emotional (even more so after having seen Fire Walk with Me twice). There is something so striking about nearly everything in this pilot episode. There's actually too much here that I adore to even attempt to put into words. It's incredible, I love it.

Twin Peaks is the best thing ever.
